Hey Guys,

I didn't particularly know where to post this so I thought if I posted it in this section, if it was in the wrong place it would be moved or I would be informed about it

I've basically been working my socks off this past month and will be doing so for the forseeable future on client projects, personal projects and offline work to acheive one of my major goals, which is to make enough money to move away from the UK and start a new life in another country (USA). Along the way I'll be keeping a blog of all my latest clients, projects, ideas and happenings for everybody to be nosey at (if you're interested).

EDIT: Oh, man, I saw the link to a vB design on sale yesterday night, and wanted to see it again this morning for probable purchase, but it was sold for $75...

I'll have a few others for sale for low cost soon man, just as soon as I get projects out of the way!

Has Wordpress done anything recently, ie: last 6 months, to prevent spam on WP blogs?
I've used the software in the past and I liked it but it was a spam magnet. Couldn't even run the blog without enabling mod approval on all replies.

I haven't had any spam related issues as of yet Blue, however I will look into it and let you know as it's worrying me a little now that you mention it.

WordPress has some nifty things for commentspam. A few things that stick out at me here.

First: The ability to hold comments for moderation based on their content, if they contain any words you specify (or pull from the list available here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Spam_Words) the comment is NOT posted until it is approved.

Second: The ability to modfiy a few basic options:
While the first option is tedious if you have a popular blog, the last two do help in preventing spam.

Third: The comment Blacklist:
I don't know what version they started adding these things, and I'm not quite sure what version you gave up on Blue - but these might be new to you?

Then sounds like they've tried doing a LOT to combat the spam then.
