I checked my traffic stats for my link directory <<MOD NOTE: URL removed.>> and i found out that the traffic exchanges don't really do that much. Most of my traffic comes from the 40+ forums i've joined and have a signature on. Look at my traffic stats for the last 18days for proof of how many people visit my site:

It averages out to be 102.78 visitors per day

I am still joining forums as we speak and using my signature to advertise my link directory.

my advice would be to do what i'm doing because it works.

I'd rather be a dedicated member of a few communities then disperse myself in multiple ones.

"Hello I just signed up to your community so I could spam you, and it works yay!"

I do not think it is spamming, unless one is merely joining a community just for the sake of putting links. I believe 90% of time one joins a community to share ideas, so no harm in a signature.

Which of course wasn't the case here.
The OP obviously signed up to spam his site.

As Blue said the OP had an agenda and it wasn't to share a opinion.

And the proof held up over time with an outstanding two posts in 6 months - and both were basically promoting the same thing.

This is a good method of advertising, i have used it plenty of times and it does add to your traffic.

Yup...there's nothing like good ol' fashion SPAM to draw attention to yourself
