We like to promote through forums but I am also a fan of targeting paid promotions such as Facebook Ads or sponsored twitter tweets.. It reaches a larger demographic and the odds of producing results are better.

Hosting forums could be great to start from but in addition to the usual posting, why not using some other free traffic building methods like submitting articles and using the social bookmarking options. If you have money,m trying out some monthly ads rentals or AdWords could be nice as well.

I rely pretty much on link building because my customers are the organic search visitors. Article marketing is my primary weapon. I find it very hard to top with any other technique.

Web hosting forums are a great way to promote yourself. Lots of exposure and either free/very cheap advertising rates.

Try to get yourself listed in directories as well. You should be able to find some directories you can list yourself in.

Well it depends of your budget. You could get a great exposure with free advertising on web hosting forums such as the one listed above. But if you have the money for, I say go for some paid advertising for better results

We are in the local directory listing but at times what happens is that we get calls for web designing realated queries whereas we are purely into web hosting. The directory listing is common for both : (
