Hello everybody...

i have a flash hybrid hosting site for sale..

This is an unfinnished project i was designing for a client but the deal fell through..

anyway this is a totally exclusive design (i have files to prove it)

i cant let this go for aything less than $250 ( original deal was $500)

this will include finishing and modifying the design to your specifications.. up to ten subpages, i will intergrate and skin a support forum to go with it too (phpbb)as was original plan.. i will only sell once.. i will include all files when design is finnished.

no not at all... it was that site that the client requested i work from, who am i to deny a clients requests...

my site is not a copy of it, more inspired by it.. that site was done by www.2advanced.com

In fact it's not exclusive.

I can become very touchy about these things. When our site was ripped, the guy told me "It was inspired by your site, but not ripped."

You header layout, the flash, the preloader, the menu layout, the color, you basically only changed the plane and exchanged it for a server.

When a site is so inspired by another design that I can go and get the site you ripped....then that has too much "inspiration"

so your telling me that this site wasnt inspired by www.webhostingtalk.com?

In which way?

its blue and orange color scheme, all the forum titles and topics are pretty much the same and in the same order.. blah blah blah...

im not trying to be funny im just trying to explain the fact that we are all inspired by something... its just the way we take that inspiration and modify it to our needs...

it doesnt matter now anyway because ive just recieved a nasty letter from 2advanced threatening legal action... although i dont agree that my template was copied from their site i have been forced to remove it from my server...

i assume it was you who notified them lol

First...you cannot rip a color scheme, as colors do not belong to any individual.

Second, of course the topics will be generally similar..they're both hosting forums.

Third, I'm finding it difficult to see where any of the topics on HD follow the same order as similar topics on WHT.

Fourth, I fail to see any similarities between WHT and HD, with exception to the genre (Hosting industry) of the overall board.

Sorry to tell you, but none of that equals ripping.

You on the otherhand, ripped the christopher lawrence header colors, layout, preloader, and concept. In fact, the colors wouldn't have been so bad, if you hadn't ripped everything else in the header. You literally made everything as close as your skills would allow, leaving a little room to claim that you were only "inspired."

There is a line between inspiration and ripping, and in my opinion, and apparently the opinion of 2A....you crossed it.

They apparently found enough likeness to feel they had a case against you, and you apprently did not find enough difference in your design to keep it up and prove them wrong.

I'm kind of curious how you got into the design business.
The site you had for sale here was a rip, or at the very least a very "inspired" design.

One of the sites in your portfolio is a MS Frontpage template.
A few sites were downloaded from IGNITION-MEDIA.NET.
Another site in your portfolio can't be viewed at all.

Do you actually do original designs?

Fella, telling the truth will get you more respect.

It's also obvious that your skills wll not advance, because you're in denial of your wrong doing. Once you come clean, and then lose the denial, you open yourself up creatively, and may have a chance of doing your own, and creating your own style, rather than taking the hard work of others, and claiming it as your own.

i am not denying that the two site are similar.. very similar in fact..
i am not denying that i used xs-engineering as a basis to work from

i am denying the fact that both sites are copies.... ok my site is blue and grey and has the same layout but i think thats where the similarities end.

antne if you truly believed that you would have left that design up, and faught 2A on it. I know I would have.
