I plan to conduct a series of interviews with top web hosting business leaders (CEOs, marketing executives) as well as relevant industry experts.

I am leaning towards an audio format which I can package as a podcast. Another option is to stick to a traditional text-based format in the form of an article.

Which format do you prefer?

I think you should do both. Do an audio so you can do a podcast with it and expand from there but also text version which can be placed on the forums or blog and gain additional exposure that way. The text version will just be a transcript that is edited to look appealing so that will be easy to do.
