What affiliate commission is good from your point of view?

As an affiliate the highest possible commission available on the table or a smaller but recurring -- its a total personal preference.

As a hosting provider the lowest possible commission on the table while still remaining competitive (you have to attract affiliates somehow).

Which are you? The hosting provider or an affiliate?

The average for a 'larger' provider seems to be $50 - $125/sale though that can go up/down.

As a Hosting Provider, 10% recurring (You will continually get the income as your referral renew the products.) is the best we could offer to our clients. Since, we are paying a lot to our payment gateways and other license costs. Hence, It is hard for us to survive in the market. 10% is the best we can offer.

As a client, you should also looking for the hosting provider / companies, who are paying recurring amounts and not one time.

From Hosting Provider point of view percentage recurring commission gets more genuine clients on board who will most likely renew their service.

From Affiliate point of view its totally personal preference whether they want recurring or one time, flat or percentage commissions.

We give affliliate from 10% to 20% but for us the affiliate is the main contact from the client and it's responsable to develop the business and keep the client happy. That allows us to manage much many clients in the best way, they really deserve the commision. We give the client the affiliate direct contact.
