Experienced government leaders to support Carpathia in the development of cloud solutions that address unique federal challenges

Dulles, Va. – February 26, 2014 – Carpathia, a trusted cloud operator and leading provider of managed hosting and cloud services for government agencies and enterprises, today launched its Federal Advisory Council (FAC), a group of former government leaders whose expertise will dramatically strengthen Carpathia’s ability to identify and address federal cloud computing security and compliance challenges. The Carpathia FAC will meet regularly to provide guidance on current federal trends while developing strategies for leveraging the Carpathia cloud operator platform to deliver the greatest impact for government organizations.

The Carpathia FAC is comprised of former public sector executives that bring valuable insight into the specific technology requirements and opportunities facing the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Department of the Interior (DOI), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and the United States Secret Service, among others. In addition to public sector experience, founding Carpathia FAC members have each served in leadership positions within the federal contracting community, and will play a critical role in helping Carpathia strengthen partnerships with systems integrators that share the goal of delivering secure, compliant, cost-effective cloud computing solutions to the U.S. Government.

Founding FAC board members include:

Ed Meagher: former Deputy Chief Information Officer, Department of the Interior; former Deputy Assistant Secretary/Deputy CIO, Department of Veterans Affairs
Tom Ragland: Senior Vice President for Homeland Security, CACI; brigadier general, U.S. Army National Guard (Ret.); former Operations Director for Homeland Security, Department of Homeland Security
Patrick Schambach: former CIO of the U.S. Secret Service; former Assistant Director and CIO, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms; former Undersecretary and CIO, Transportation Security Administration

“We are pleased to assemble an all-star team of federal experts as we work together to guide agencies on how to maximize their cloud infrastructure investments,” said Stu Fleagle, Vice President, Carpathia Government Solutions. “These leaders bring a wealth of experience on the complex security and compliance challenges facing specific federal agencies, and their insight will be invaluable as we continue to customize Carpathia cloud solutions to meet these needs.”

Carpathia plans to bolster the FAC team with two additional public sector technology leaders in the coming months, to best address the rising demand for cloud computing solutions in the federal government.
