Im interested in buying a dedicated server
I think EV1Servers looks pretty good because they have good servers and a great price for them.
I would be getting a server admin for the server so the only support issue really is rebooting and anything related to their network.

I have heard bad things about them for DDoS attacks though as they just unplug the server and I would rather someone tried to stop it in some way than just unplugging me.

Are there resellers of EV1Servers that could give a better price?

Anyone have experience with any DCs with similar pricing to EV1?

EV1 is awsome.

We have 40+ servers there right now. As long as you are confident to manage it (or are paying someone to) then you wont have a problem.

Most complaints about them are by people who buy a server and then expect things to be done for them. THEY ARE UNMANAGED.

The network and uptime is amongst the best around.

Yeah, they are pretty great. I recommend www.rocketcolo.net cheap servers, unmanaged to a extent and great deals. You can build your own servers with panel, os ect

You might consider EV1 to be the lower quality and cheaper provider but i think that i would recommend http://www.coloquest.com customize your own bandwidht packages and space.

Goto EV1 if you want to be DOSed! Goto http://www.servermatrix.com if you want DOS protection.

I agree to go to ServerMatrix if you want to be protected. EV1 servers are unmanaged and much harder to work with (in my opinion). I lived in Houston and they wouldn't let me tour their NOC. I've driven to ServerMatrix and have had no problem with them showing me around. (And they gave me a Diet Coke too!)

I havent heard much about Dinix or Servint for dedicated servers but have heard a good bit about EV1 and SM.
Matt, whats your experience with DoS in Ev1?
Think you would have good knowledge about that since you have so many servers there.

EV1 seems to really look after their customers from what I have seen and their network seems reliable, although DoS attacks are something I have heard a lot about for problems with them, dont they just unplug the server?

Which company has a good reputation and also has a good level of server management for around the same price I would be paying if I hired someone and got a server with EV1?

Hello,
You will have to be logged in when you post so another member can PM you
I dont think Stephen is looking for colo either but rather a dedicated server provider which has everything setup with their own hardware etc. but Im not sure, you should log in and post though so he knows what member you are to send a PM
