High availability VPS can be done, but the first question is, who is going to be the target audience ? In a world where ppl want to pay less than half of the actual VPS cost, a high availability VPS is going to cost more than double.

There's also the issue of keeping data between the two servers in sync. What if the site has a busy high write database?
