Was wondering where is the best place to get dedicated servers to use for gaming servers i've looked at these but its so hard to choose or figure out which one would be best

servermatrix.com
ezzi.net & nac.net (i believe they are somewhat partnered)
dedicatednow.com
nocster.com & burst.net (one and the same)
gnax.com (i guess i have to go through a reseller for them)

Any info and help is greatly appreciated!

BTW these are for American/Canadian players probably non west!

(I have found so far that if you get west servers its only good for west you get anything else west pings crap and everyone else is ok lol)

Are you looking to play on the game server or sell game servers to others?
--------------------------
For playing - You don't want to get server in TX if you/your team are mostly in North East.

Being in NE.. I'd say your choices are NAC or Burst...

Not sure about ezzi.net but DedicatedNow is definitely part of NAC.
(NAC is the DC and the other 2 are resellers of them.

I've heard Burst network is faster for gaming than NAC, that and prices a lot cheaper.

IMO - I'd go Burst
---------------------------

For selling game servers, again depends on target region your selling to. However SM has a bad rep w gamers for latency.
Rackshack has far better gaming network (IMO) and the amount of sales of servers that are TX based customers/servers is amazing. (Tx is by far biggest market I seen for game servers, something about CAL being there I guess )

Anyway For south, I'd go GNAX over SM for game servers and RS (ev1) before either of those two.

Well I was doing some reading on WHT FORUMS and they are saying ezzi dedicated now and sm are the best and that nocster had some severe problems last month (but perhaps they are fixed now)

all 4 seem decent lol but ya ezzi looks pretty good (that part of nac network thing).

heard many good comments about SM. DedicatedNow has a bit slow reply message, in my opinion.

Out of that list, my top choices are dedicatednow and Burst.

I am currently using dedicatednow and have been very happy with their services so far.

I have used Burst in the past and I have no complaints. Their prices are very reasonable too.

Good Luck!

Servermatrix and dedicatednow are where my heart lies, ev1 is where the backup/monitoring server lies I didn't have a good experience at burst, fwiw.

I've also heard good things about ServerMatrix & the quality of their support. A buddy of mine has a box colocated with them & gives nothing but good comments.. and I'm fairly sure I remember quite a few good reviews on WHT.

You might want to re-search on that now. Previously it was solid praise for them, but lately there has been more and more issues popping up.

Oh and don't forget the FBI has a special thing w/ SM.
Afterall that's the only DC you see that is constantly using the FBI as an excuse to why they had to cut off the server w/o ever notifing the customer of a problem or any investigation (at least from what I've read).

Plus what about the problems with them taking over 1hr on a normal basis for a simple reboot.

YEP that's the place I want to put all my clients at

JAALI,

Just for clarification, we contracted out NAC to help upgrade the network and plan for future growth, as we recently had done a large network overhaul- we are not in any way affiliated with NAC.

Thanks,

Regarding Nocster, their support seems to be pretty top notch. I don't use them, however find many many brilliant topics on their support, and it is even better than ServerMatrix apparently.

Network however is the total opposite. Nocster is "average" however does need to improve. If I were the owner of Nocster, I'd stop all signups and simple work hard and try to improve the network and make it more stable and a lot better. Although who knows, maybe soon Nocster will soon do better at that.
