Who amongst you?,instead of virtualizing just buys the entire node to resell vps?,which I bet it might be far more expensive if the node is mounted on a very good dedicated server

People are selling VPS as a pure reseller?
WOW ok well that is a bit amateurish I think.
When I decided to get back into this full time first thing did was setup a node at one datacenter for openvz (cheaper option vps)
then setupa vmware node at another datacenter
and now I just got a virtual datacenter cloud hosting setup setup on Xen hypervisor through a company that has been around for about 18 years so could offer cloud hosting at affordable prices and not $60/mo for a small vm on a cloud like most would be direct.

It is all about not only gettitng best price, but also choosing reputable datacenters to set up nodes in so reduces your headaches.
The ultimate goal should be giving your customers the best service for the best price while still makinga profit on everything sell of course as why do it if do not make money.

Thank you zxenterprises for replying, please explain why buying the wholt node from the datacenter is amateur when you say selling vps is about making profit, just dont understand is upsdown.
First you are adorable and then you start jumping round like crazy to cloud men, well now that you are in the cloud please explain to me how the cloud reseller biz works man please.

Why installing vmware at a diferent server zxenterprises?,if is like solus vm it should be installed on the same node isnt it?

Could you please zx enterprises share with me ur proccedure to virtualize with open vz,I mean your guide,or do you do it with vmware?

Can you please zxenterprises provide link of the cheapest datacenter you know?

Also can you pleaSE provide the links to the most reputable datacenters?

Vegas there are many alternatives which you could try. If you wish to build money as a direct resellers then reselling VPS is always a good option. With this you could also resell dedicated servers. Doing this means there is really no cost to you as your customer pay the price you set and this price tends to be higher then the seller price you are given from the hosting company your choose.

These are great alternatives to lets say, buying a dedicated out right. When you buy the server yourself of course you could make more profit, but you also run the risk that if you do not fill the node by the next due date, then you are hurting all those customer who will lose their service.

You want to make sure that if you are going to buy servers instead that you have the funds necessary to fund the server if your first couple months do not go as planned. I'd say that if you are looking into reselling that you find the best bargain with the best service and not necessarily the cheapest price. There are many hosts who provide both and are willing to even help you gain new customers . Good luck!

That's an interesting idea. It seems similar to getting a managed dedicated server to sell VPS, or hiring someone to set up the virtualization platform for you on a dedicated server. Except in your example the provider will already have it all set up and market it as prebuilt package for vps hosters or consumers that require multiple VPS

I think its a great idea!

I have 3 platofrms atm but m dropping openvz to put the other two "on the cloud" platform setups as cloud hosting is Id say hands down the best seller atm.
OpenVZ u can use a free master software I think HyperVM is still free, used it years ago
but SolusVM is probably the nicest one for OpenVZ as it has modules in almost every billing software so u can automate vps creations.
I have cloud setup through another datacenter set on Xen Hypervisor that uses OnApp. While Im not particularly thrilled about OnAPP the ability to scale in 10 seconds when needed is awesome feature.
The most stable but also prob the most expensive possible is VMWare. VMWare is solid, havent had a single moment, one hickup form that node in whole time have had it. SO VMware the hypervisor you can get free, but if want the exterprise solutions for the easy tools and such it can get into many thousands of dollars quickly. If you can typea 2 sentence in command line u don;t relly need those toolsas much as some think. I dont even make templates, I build them from the OS isos and takes less then 10 min total. I just added SAN backup to the mix on vmware and adding a second node in datacenter the company is opening in few weeks soon as they open those doors.
With VMWare the failover isn't AS important as is on Xen or the others because it just doenst fail very often if ever like most of the opensource platforms tend to do more often.
The other thing need to consider is on OpenVZ u can oversell everything, on Xen setup u can't oversell ANYTHING and on VMWare u can oversell everything but the RAM being VMware reserves whatever RAM u give the vm as if its being used even when its not.
That is a big factor, especially if new to it, I know it has been for me. When people offer $8 vps plans you best belive they are overselling where its limited on other platforms.
Tons go with OpenVZ because its free, panel for it is cheap, easily automated and can oversell it to the max which makes it the most profitable I guess but I look at it as you get what you pay for.
Example I piad $90 for sneakers 14 years ago and JUSt threw them away finally, my kids get those cheap $20 ones all the time cause they are growing so fast and go through 3 pair a year so I did much better by paying more awhile ago Id say?

As far as DataCenters Im partial to the one Im partnered with that provides my vmware setup, they are resonable, very knowledgeable and very friendly, more thn once I have talked to one of the owners just to get ideas and few tips and they don't mind doing that which is pretty awesome these days.

The best solution to resell VPS is to purchase dedicated server somewhere and set up vmware ESX or openvz, kvm directly on the node. This will require some knowledge, but you can hire admin to set it up. The other solution is to purchase cloud and resell VPS from there, but this will be 2 tier of virtualisation and performance will be poor.

Its better to go and buy a node to resell VPS services instead of straight reselling for another company. This is because in the long run your clients you work hard to get stay with you, you can charge them what ever give them what ever or do what ever with them..

You will not be a middle man.. It will be more work but you'll make more money. At first it is also a big investment because you buy server with no clients have to set it up and then take the risk of not getting any clients the first couple months.. You must have a great business plan in place if you want to be successful at selling vps servers its quite fun if you do it the right way and have he passion for it also.

Don't think someone can just buy a node and sell servers like that it takes lots of long nights and hard work advertising trying to get clients to pick you other than all those other big companies like hostgator etc...

yes it is an OBSCENE amount of work and large investments to do it right but if keep at it it will be worth it, IF YOU BUILD IT, THEY WILL COME lol

Soem love Microsoft, I persoanlly do not even though am Authorized Reseller lol
I would just offer Windows VPS on VMWare which is what I do or on cloud, Id personallys tay away from Windows virtualization but that is a matter of preference not talking crap on any Windows products

I once tried kvm and it wasnt free,to me are excellent open vz solutions maybe mixed with vmware like zxenterprises depicts.

Server deals yes I ve made things to dedicated and also find is the best way to be profitable and competitive but still I want to hire a cheap one to practice more virtualization stuff, why not even trying som xen :-) D.A.R.E

iky0294 yes brother is more biz far more if you have alreeady visitors, but can you recommend someone that sells the actual node,or how you know people buy wholt node?

It depends, if you own the node it will profit in the long run as long as you market right, but it is cost effective if you just want to resell of a vps host and boost the price to make money or use an affiliate link
