Hi,

Well, its purely based on your requirement. What sort of control panel you want. (Plesk supports both Linux as well as Windows). Both of them are specialized in their own areas, one being open source and other being closed source..

Its a never ending debate to chose which one is better. When it comes to hacking, Windows are secure as compared to Linux.

Windows and Linux has always been in the comparison. Shifting from Linux to Windows totally depends on your requirements. If you want to move to a GUI then it is best to go for a Windows version.

As RH-Calvin stated it actually depends on your needs and your application. If you are running a PHP-based website such as a CMS like Wordpress, keeping it on Linux environment is advised due to performance. If you are using your VPS for some sort of personal use or running an application that requires being always online and you wish to have access to GUI, then Windows is prefereed.

Linux is best platform to consider for hosting. It is open source, secured and has cheap license cost as compared to Windows which has high cost for its license.

Why on earth would you want to move to windows. Just terrible to work with especially hosting wise. We offer a windows hosting solution per request just to show you how un popular it is. Did not even make the cut to give it its own page on our site

It really depends upon you. If you are using Windows technologies then Windows is more preferable but if you are comfortable with open source then Linux would be the best option I would recommend you to be with it.
