It totally depends on the needs of client, the max amount of resources needed to run the project or website, and actual goals and also the predicted growth and resource usage in the near and far future. For example, if you think your website will not get more than 1000 visits per day for more than 1 year, its better to go with a VPS so you can save a lot and will not pay for lots of unused resources. But if you are concerning to run a website that is supposed to get more than 100,000 visits per day just in a few months, you may not go with VPS as you know you will need to move your site soon and your site may go down for some hours. So in this case you certainly prefer to start your website on a dedicated server that will meet your need for a long while.

Both VPS and Dedicated servers are best according to me. It only depends on your requirements, whichever you prefer to go with. Dedicated servers offer more security and a dedicated support service, but many are unable to afford the prices of dedicated servers.

VPS and Dedicated Servers are recommended hosting option to those who have moderate to high traffic on website. It depends upon users on his requirements whether to consider a Dedicated or VPS servers.

BMW or Jaguar they both drive well it would be up to the driver. If price is no object use a dedicated server you will have full control.

Hi,

Both have their own advantages. Dedicated are physical hardware given to you, so upgrading resources is manual and doing so may take lot of downtime. On the other hand, upgrading resources on VPS is easier, as its all virtual on top of physical hardware.

Completely depends on own requirements, budget and what you plan on using it for. As 24x7server has already said, upgrades on a VPS are much easier as it's virtual.

Or you could look into cloud hosting. It's not oversaturated with competition (yet) and may be something worth looking into... Has a bit of both worlds. You can setup a server with cloud software yourself or go with a cloud provider and resell.

You need to take into account the following.

*Space
*Bandwidth
*Location
*What type of services you will be needing on your server.

Then you need to weigh up the options from diffrent providers.

*Look for reviews
*Look at prices (Some times too cheap can be misleading)
*How long have they been serving clients.

Just a few pointers.

You need to tell us more about your project. There isn't really a "better" solution, it all depends on your needs and on your budget as well.
