All,

Hello I have a question. We currently rent our own dedicated server. This is getting pretty expensive. However my friend and I have enough spare parts laying around to build a better server then the one we currently rent. The question is does anyone know of company that will let you basically send them a configured server and just pay for power, footprint, and bandwith. We are trying to save some money. We have a pretty sweet system. Just that public ISP even with 8mb down and 1.5mb up it still has lag spikes. This is unacceptable. Does a service like that exist somewhere? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank You,
Jason Polachak

I wouldn't know, I've heard of colocation servers, but I am not to familiar with them, I would check into that, and if not, I wouldn't know what else to do, besides rent your server from a different place.

Yea you can do that its called Co-Location you can search for a datacentre near you and contact them for the rates co-los cut your expenses by almost 40%.

You will need alot of experience to do so by the way better get some help from your dc while setting it all up.
