Are you a reseller, who do you register your hosting client domains with? I have looked into the tucows reseller program, the same one that ev1servers is apart of. Most importantly do you use their software or API when checking clients out during the domain portion of your signup forum?

I just tell my clients to goto http://www.godaddy.com and register a domain for 7.95/year. They don't seem to mind, but it has made me loose a couple clients.

We are using enom and where very happy with them till as of late.

The price sure is right and the API works well, but they sell/share user information and we have had a client complain that they received spam from a person asking to do webdesign for them and in the email they used all of the information that was provided to enom.

Take a look at the Does eNom Share the Information It Receives?

They do state it right up front they will share your infomation so its not something they are doing wrong.

interesting, maybe I should think of looking for a new domain registrar as I was going to go with them when I had made $250 from my hosting business. (going to release tomarrow) as ModernBill gives away a free $8.95 enom account, thought that was a good price and easy.

Whats another good registrar?

Rivisio, your price might be 8.95 but for you to sell i tmight be a little higher just double check on that. I have an associate that will give you a 7.00+/- reseller account with DirectI, if you want me to contact him let me know.

But, if you register a clients domain name with you, don't you actually own it?

At least they are upfront with that information. I still don't think it is right for them to share the information.

Good question, I had my eyes set on tucows reseller program. The same one that ev1 goes with. Infact I need to contact them tomorrow, I paid the 100 registration fee now I need to actually utilize their service. I will let you all know how it goes.

Great, I think directi would be good, no fees etc and you can deposit any amount you choose.

I also like to use GoDaddy and recommend clients to them.

Like you said, most don't seem to mind. But yes, you get some that do.

For CNOB we use both DirectI and eNom.
For other ccTLDs we usually deal directly with the registries where possible.

I have a reseller account with enom. I went with enom because they are supported by many scripts such as whmap, modern bill, etc.

One of the things I don't like about enom is that sub-resellers can easily be drawn into buying hosting etc from them and not from us.
