Just wondering what's involved in setting up a business in your country??

I see so many hosts that are run by 12 year olds, not even real registered businesses.

In my country we have to register ourselves, (costs about 2grand), get an ABN etc. An expensive fine if caught trading without being a real business.

ya, it's an expenisive fine here too, here it costs $50 to submit a registration form than about 2 months to process the form.

Where are ya'll from, since it is different from Country to Country and in the states its different from State to State.

To be considered a "Business" you have have some sort of viewing by the state. You can be a DBA "Doing Business As" LLC, LP, Inc. You do have to file your taxes which I don't undestand by the kids. Basically they are just taking money and not paying any taxes. When ever I have someone do work for me I send them a 1099 Form which stats that I did pay them and they have to pay the tax on it. Some people say its "BS" I do that but I run a business and tell them to get real. I have A LLC in Rhode Island, Kansas, and in Kansas for multipul things

Hope this helps out a little

Frank

In the US you don't actually have to have a Business License to run a small business. It is needed for certain industries but for something like web design / hosting its viewed as an intangible object (service) and there are ways to get around having to be registered as a business entity.

The KEY and I stress KEY, make sure to pay your taxes for any services performed or offered. As long as you pay your taxes the government whether local or federal will let you pass by.

I have done my due diligence on this matter.

Then you are not considered a business and if take it down as a "hobby" you might get a letter from the IRS saying you make to much money and you have to consider yourself a business and pay A LOT more. Usualy an S-corp. When I do computer consulting that is considered a "Service" and damn straight I have to be a DBA, LLC, Inc, LP etc... even tho it is just a "Service" I am taking money and have to pay on it.

Rule of Thumb.... Always save 30% of your earnings made so when tax time comes (now to next couple months) you have enough and most likely will get a % of the 30 back and you are not shocked if they do ask for all of it!
