Where do you make most of your money in the hosting?

Shared Accounts - Webhosting accounts or IRCd/BNC/Eggdrop Shells (if your IRC)
Reseller Accounts
Dedicated Servers

I sell more Dedicated Servers than anything else..

I would say reseller accounts - Dont offer any dedicated servers, never even thought about it to be honest.

Never looked at anything to do with it.

Do you sell managed or unmanaged servers?

I just resell servers, unmanaged, I only offer support with what I can do personally, the datacenter offers to fix any patches usually too.. I'm friends with the owner of Staminus.net.. he has a good reseller program.. let me know if you signup with him.

Shared Hosting > It's all I do. So no problems there. 107 a month isn't bad.

I would say that it would have to be between Reseller Accounts and Dedicated Servers.

Well, out of those three - I'd have to say shared hosting.

If it were out of all the services my company has, it would probably be the consultancy services. My company made quite a nice buck when selling computers for a short period.

Do you have a geographical location with an office Anjay?
I think a lot of people either work from home on the net, or only use an office part time.
Did you do custom computers?
I would say there is a lot of money to be made in that

Hi there RobAPI,

My company has an office in France.
We did a few custom computers, however unfortunately it was not too popular. The reason being, in France, it is very expensive to ship the computers elsewhere and unfortunately the French population are not "rich" enough to be able to purchase custom computers.

I agree - doing custom built computers certainly has a lot of money to be made from, however of course it depends mainly on area. I'm sure, had I been in the UK, Germany, the USA or even in Canada, that my company would have had a lot more success in this sector - however unfortunately it seems that France just isn't the right area to build custom computers.

Wouldnt they be able to save money with a custom computer rather than one from a shop which is pre-built?
You could get the components and build a computer for a lot less than they would be paying in a shop for one which is already built

NewEgg.com > International Shipping is a bit of $$. So I can see Anjay's problem.

Yes, shipping is very expensive - and of course the client is very reluctant to pay full shipping.

Many French people keep their old computer, and prefer having it repaired. If my company had repaired any only other computer - I could have made more money. Also I have very big competition from a company called Medion, one of the largest European computer manufacturers. All Medion computers and laptops are extremely cheap however are very good quality.
I was able to sell some custom computers, however most were sold to British people who moved to France because they wanted everything in English which I was able to get, while the shops were unable to since everything was default to French. (The software, keyboard, etc.)

Unfortunately wages in France are not very good, and a french person cannot really go out and buy a new computer just like that, like an English, American, or Canadian can. (Obviously there are people in all countries who do have money difficulties however I have found that the French have much less spending capabilities.)

Are there any good european computer part distributors? We have contracts with 3 companies out of the United States (Tech Data, Synnex, D and H) which give us free shipping on orders over $500. So that helps out a bit with keeping the costs to a minimal.

I would agree there is a great demand for custom PCs right now, but like most of you are saying it is hard to get your name out there and it is hard to compete with some or the larger dominant companies. Where I work right now we do custom Work PCs, Home PCs, Gaming PCs and we now do laptops as well. To be honest we have been selling more laptops than and desktop the past 2 months. Kind of odd.
