Right, here's my plan.

I currently provide cloud web hosting.
I am a reseller (obviously) as cloud is very expensive.

But, being a reseller, that does not enable me to sell resellers.
Now I can find a range of good server deals that would suit my needs for the price I can afford, but they would NOT be cloud ones.

I will continue to offer cloud shared hosting.
(using my cloud reseller account)

But my reseller hosting plans would not be cloud based.

Now, the contradictory comment to that would be:

"Well, that kind of defeats the purpose of Noble Cloud".

So, what's your ideas guys???

I wouldn't offer the two under the same domain. A confused prospect never buys - and this strategy sends mixed signals, not in alignment with your Cloud brand.

If i have another domain then it wont be Noble Cloud. It will be an entirely different company.

How would i make it one company?

So I had an idea.
I registered the domain www.noblereseller.com
(it's currently parked with GoDaddy)

Noble Reseller can provide the non-cloud reseller hosting.
It will still be good, nice and stable, just not cloud.

And noble cloud can continue to provide the awesome cloud.

Meanwhile whenever anyone visits the noble cloud website and clicks to see the reseller plans they will be redirected to Noble Reseller.

I will state on both websites...

Hey, the very best of success with both sites. We run multiple brands ourselves, so it's very workable.

There is another question though.
I only want to buy WHMCS once, not twice.
Seeing noble cloud and noble reseller have different domains,
How would this be possible? How would I work around this?

What's "cloud" about it ?
Aren't you UK based ? Why are you hosting 120ms and 15 hops away in the 1st place ?

I have a reseller account with a company who has a cloud server.

Whereas Noble Reseller, which will PROVIDE reseller accounts, would be on my own server. However that server would not be cloud, as I can't afford cloud.

Hence why I have two domains to prevent confusion.
Anyway, has anyone got an answer to my question regarding WHMCS?

You dont (appear to) own noblecloud .com
You dont (appear to) own noblecloud .co.uk

So no-one is every going to find you based on the "name" - you need to come up with something both original and where the domains are available.


If you say so, from an outside perspective looks just like any other cpanel reseller account.

I'd love to know where your provider gets magic SANs that have unlimited diskspace and cost nothing - I think the last 2 we added worked out about 60k for ~12TB

If you want the whmcs to be separate, and on the 2 domains, then you need 2 licences.

And I actually registered the company name NOBLE CLOUD LIMITED with the company number 7710883.

So I think, unlucky for them.
They may have registered the domains.

And I have no idea how my cloud provider can offer such large amounts of space. I'm just a reseller.
But, I can tell you, they have amazingly good reviews.

I'm not going to tell you the name of the company because that's giving away business secrets.
But before you mark me down, I suggest you do your research first.
The domains may be registered but they're not in use as an active company, unlike mine.

Oh! And I'm the one who registered the limited company.

As for WHMCS, I do not want to buy 2 licenses.

Think of it as two divisions of the same company.

So, as you say, you have 1/4 of the domains - what _exactly_ do you think 75% of your potential visitors are going to do when they get a coming soon parking page, no page or a 404 .... here's a hint - they're not going to bother looking for you again

Anyone with ~5.8 seconds to spare can tell it's Melbourne who are providing the actual connectivit, unlimitd web providing the service.

You dont want to buy 2 WHMCS - so run one install on one domain and put everything into the one setup - not exactly rocket-science, and clearly detailed in their licence ...

i have 14 customers already.
but 13 of them are free beta testers.
(i had a beta program...a way of encouraging people to try my service, and hopefully write a review).

I also have one paid customer, making a total of 14.
I can't change my name as I'm a registered company.
Well, I can, but it would A cost a lot and B be inconvenient for both me and my customers.

What about my other domain, noblereseller.com
Perhaps I should move everything onto that one?
And no longer do Noble Cloud?
But then, what about my trade name?
That's Noble Cloud Limited.
Also, what about my existing customers?

On the upside though, by doing that I'd cut costs.
As at the moment I have to fund my cloud reseller account.
And also fund my server for the non-cloud reseller hosting plans.

If I was to just become Noble Reseller, I could then use my server to make shared and reseller plans,
thus no longer being in need of paying the extra fee for the cloud reseller.
However, then I won't be providing any cloud service at all.
It's a bad idea, as I'd have to find a way of sorting out my 14 existing customers hosting on the cloud reseller.
And I'd also have to figure out what to do with my tradename as thats Noble Cloud Limited, not Noble Reseller Limited.

And the two domain thing was Steve-Hostirians idea.
You see, my reseller accounts will not be cloud based, but my shared would be.
However, if I was to somehow shake off Noble Cloud and switch to Noble Reseller.
I could then provide shared and reseller (though not cloud) on the one server.
Rather than having to run one cloud one and one not-cloud one, if you get me.
But that doesn't solve the problem of my 14 existing customers.
But, in the long run, it's necessary I keep one, not two...as I need to think of finances.

What I'm trying to say is it would be cheaper for me to run the non-cloud server.
(where I can have shared, reseller, master reseller, anything I like really. I also have 1TB hard drive in it).
Than it would be for me to run the cloud reseller where I can only sell shared hosting.
And most people these days already have shared hosting,
whereas theres more and more people looking for resellers.

Mhmm....I don't think I can get rid of the cloud reseller.
Because by doing so, I'd have to throw away my 14 customers.
And there is no way I'm going to do that. Damn! What to do????

Plan, Check, Do ... thats the order you should try things for your business

So only 1 actual client then. And what are you going to do with them when your provider goes t1tsup.com for letting their customers sell massive amounts of resources for pennies ?

You need to learn a lot more about running a *company* then, changing the name is relatively trivial - far less so than making sure you annual returns and accounts are filed ontime etc.

Finances should have been a large part of your business plan which you should have written _prior_ to even registering the company - what's your break-even point, how long until you're making a profit, what budget for advertising and marketing, insurance, DR planning, business continuity, exit strategy ...

If finances are a problem today, what are you going to do when you need another server, because a client actually wants to use the resources you've promised them - as a UK company you're now under lots of legislation (although some will have applied even as a sole trader - DSR, ECD, Companies Act, ASA etc)

What market research did you do to come up with that idea ?

So when the 13 "testers" have all left, and there's only 1 paying client giving you ~£12/year before admin costs, how long until you go bankrupt funding the cloud hosting ?
