Hi Everyone,
What do the rest of you hosts think about hostlegal.com? I pruchased them to replace our old TOS, AUP, and PP. I love them so far. I customized them a tad and now they will go up in the update of our site.
What are you feeling on them? Do you like them? Do you not like them? Do you know of a place to find a SLA template?

BHN, I have never had personal experience with HostLegal, but I do see them posting in advertising section of HD regularly. I just visited their web site and got quite discouraged to see some pages of their web site not work. Ex: http://www.hostlegal.com/index.php?o...d=12&Itemid=27
I prepare all the legal papers/documents for my sites myself, so I never used any other source. However, I did have experience with software called eBizLegal (I test drove it and it was quite easy and fun). You can find a little more information on them in this thread: CONTEST: End-of-Year Most Valuable Member. $5,000 in prizes!
The software is being offered as one of the End of Year contest prizes in our contest.
Best,

Artashes,
Concerning some pages being down they are undergoing testing on a new system. It is local to where we are at so I was fortinite enough to talk to the team. I had the same issue.
The contest looks very interesting and until about 2 minutes ago I had know nothing about it. Some of those prizes could help many of us in the forums. You guys have great ideas. Keep them coming.
On another note, does anyone know where you can find an SLA creater, template, ect?

I use Hostlegal, but I was rather disappointed with the end product. It didn't include as much as they made out on their site and the free sample provided is the best thing in the actual product.

I was not disappointed, although I did find the terms of service was missing a few clauses , e.g. money back guarantee, cancellation, etc.
It was worth the money in my opinion

According to a post in WHT I heard it's not worth purchasing. I was interested in it, but I'm not sure if it's worth going through it. I heard I could hire a lawyer to make all this.
Is this product really worth it? http://www.avidinteractive.com/softc...?product_id=14, or should I try HostLegal.com?

Wirenine,
First, I would like to thank you for being a Hostlegal customer. We know and truly understand that without our customers we will not be in business.
In our Reseller Protection Kit, we do address cancellation issues e.g early cancellation in Section 3. (d). In terms of a 30-day Money Back Guarantee clause, you are right. It is not included in our Terms of Serve agreement. Our ToS was designed to protect the web hosters from legal liabilities and financial loss. While a 30-day Money Back Guarantee clause will reassure your hosting customers that you will provide adequate hosting services, it also creates a potential liability for the next 30 days. We did not believe that including such a clause would be in the "best interest" of our Hostlegal customers.
I hope this helps.

Any comments/suggestions from where should we get all our terms? There is HostLegal, there is eBiz app, there is lawyer, there is just get the ToS of your server provider.

All of the above WERE created by lawyers, so what does it matter?
The difference is that if you want your own TOS, you hire a lawyer who will charge you $1000 to write about the same TOS that you can find in products like eBiz. There could be content uniqueness to some degree, but it all comes to same parameters, so unless you are a major corporation with your own lawyers on payroll, its not worth it.
Best,
