Hi All,

I'm looking for information on using the DNS Clustering functionality in WHM.

We've recently started using Client Exec as our billing/support software and we're liking the auto account creation function.

We'd like to bring another server onto Client Exec, but before we do so it's critical that we understand the DNS Clustering first.

The instructions on this page look pretty good (http://www.cpanel.net/support/docs/d...ng-quickstart/).

I assume someone has done this before? It is really just as easy as configuring clustering on all WHM instances that we want to talk to each other?

Any tips and comments are appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi,
That dose pretty much explain it and it is fairly simple to set up. However, I would call your data center and talk to them about it before deciding to go that route.

It may or may not be what you really want to do. Explain to them why you want to do it, so they can give you suggestions on the best way to set things up for your needs.

I did this several weeks ago, works great.

Why would I contact my data centre? Not sure what this has to do with them...

Hi,
I didn't realize how old the thread was until after I replied.. Sorry.
But as for clustering, and asking your data center..
Clustering is not for everyone. I figgured if you wasnt' that sure about it, then discuss it with the people you get your server through, and they could explain everything.

Not a problem though, as long as you set it up and it is working good for you.

Have a nice day,
Tim L

Hi,

No problem. I agree that clustering isn't for everyone but it seems to me that as soon as you have more than one server it's required. And WHM makes it so simple stupid that a monkey could do it. Heck, I did it
