What way do you upload your files to your site?
I always use FTP but have used the browser upload in cPanel a few times when I had a problem with FTP.

Has anyone used upload like on dreamweaver, frontpage etc?

I use either an FTP client such as FlashFXP or CureFTP to transfer my files. Something that supports both ASCII and Binary formats for uploading/downloading.

I also use Dreamweaver to upload files in "LIVE" format. I mainly do that when Im checking PHP code to access my database. Basically a troubleshooting technique.

I suggest to all new customers FTPCommander, it's easy to use, I am able to support it and for the newer people new to ftp, they love it. I use ensim control panel only when editing my site from school since I can't use ftp here...

What exactly is the difference between the two?

I use WS_FTP and just upload files like that.. I have a VERY fast connection so works fine for me.

I love FTP
When I first started with websites on a free host that didnt support ftp, I always wandered what it was. Wish I would have learned about it sooner.

I have tried every ftp client there is, and I always go back to Ws_Ftp LE. Simple and to the point.

FTP is the easiest transfer system. If Im transfering a very large amount of files however, I will usually SSH into the server to do it.

My pet is FTP explorer... very basic yet powerful. In few instance I have noticed FTP explorer working fine when cute FTP or ws FTP were giving error.

I have used FrontPage too... but I prefer to use FTP aoftware then FP.

I use cuteftp and recently Filezilla, like the both. Bought Dreamweaver and used it twice, too bulky and restrictive, another high priced Front Page if you ask me. Probably sell mine soon as we get back to US. Use cpanel to upload once in a while too if connection is poor or only have a file and it's already open. Freckle

I use FileZilla a lot, good options available.
I have never used SSH though, whats that like for transfering files from a PC to a server?
