Hey,
When putty is reading a file, what does it do to get the data?

Asking because I want to read a file through putty, but its over 100mb so its pretty big.

Thanks

Try using less instead of pico/vi or cat and grep parts of the file. 100 MB any editor and you will be waiting a long time for it to go into memory.

I only want to view part of the file anyway but I dont know how to do this through pico.
Tried reading it and hoped maybe it takes a part at a time but it didnt seem to show anything so I exited after a while
