We have quite a few that are still using FP. The number has cut down a little with regard to signups that are requesting it though.

Are they actively using it or do they just have it installed?
I dont think a lot of people use them much anymore, most people that have them installed dont make use of it I think.

I think a lot of people new to the web might use them as its one of the first programs you can get your hands on for web dev, if you have windows.

Once you get more into web dev then people normally move away from FP to something else, either another WYSIWYG or a simple text editor to write their own HTML code.

A lot of my users use FrontPage. Probally about 40% of the users. Cause when the extentions go down I hear about it from a lot. I wish I could do away with FP but the users like it.

Why do people still want to use frontpage?
Is it because they dont know of the other options available?

Well,
Some want it completely disabled, they usually state that in their order form. But, none of my customers use it, they want powertools instead , I need to get those..

Right, some do still request that it be disabled as they fear that it cause issues in their programming since they are not using it.

Powertools is a good thing, ensimshop.com is also another option, however their support is a total mystery.

Only ones are those that we set up Intranets for, but really just so it's easy to administer for those that end up with the job, and it's full server build and install so not really hosted services, just building a bog standard windows server.

Hey Decker,
I dont know if you have been doing hosting long but have you had any accounts ask for FP installed if you have?

One of the worst things is that FP is different from ANY other WYSIWYG site coder as in if you use it for your site then you normally have to get a host which has FP Ext. installed, without that, you cant run your site.
No other program requires you to do that for adding in basic things like forms

About 60% of my clients use it, and I hate the program so that is probably why I get clients that use it, I don't mind but those extensions can be a pain. Usually first thing to break in a cpanel upgrade like the last one that I impatiently couldn't wait to install.
I have found that the graphic designers tend to use it most if they can't afford adobe.
I smile with happiness when they tell me they use FP but upload with FTP.

Only one client in 5 years ever requested them, but I don't think they actually used them :p We always have them available just in case though.
