It is a gimmick, What I found out on reading the support page is that the setup and service are free, but any cusotmers you sign up under you are not yours to keep they belong to them and you earn a commision off of what you sell. Little pay for doing all the work for them. If you decide you like being a reseller and want to leave them, they keep all your customers, unless of course your customers decide to leave too. Hope that helps

I don't know if you would be able to move your customers from that site but I really doubt they are using a control panel like ensim, cpanel, plesk etc. so you would have a problem if you did want to move them.

I don't thin kthey are your customers, as Freckled said, but you just get them for resellerspanel, it seems more like an extended affiliate programme than anything.
