I have often used a proxie to access certain websites, mostly because the IP I was using was from a region that isn't accepted. However the proxies will not show video, and that is frequently what I need.

Is it possible to set up a proxy that will show video? If so, how would I do that?

It worth checking a couple of thinigs -

Make sure that you're proxy server (squid?) is stripping out all the headers.

Secondly, I've seen some sites in the US check what your local PC timezone is set to and, if it's wrong, not play the video. Might be worth checking too :-)

This would depend upon where you are located and where you need the proxy to be located. Setting up proxies is easy, but you have so many options in the type of proxies you can use. The most secure are ssh proxies and you can read about what they do here.

SSH proxies are fully capable of streaming all media. This is just an option for you to consider.

I actually have heard of this proxy recently which will apparently show you videos, but I unfortunately do not have a link handy.

Not to mention I have never even used the website, so I cannot say for certain how good it would be.

When and if I manage to find the link however, I will share it with you for sure

Thank you, I was unaware of the time zone issue. I have in the past set up the proxy in the same country as the site I was trying to view the site of-so that it had the correct IP address. And still, yes it failed.

Potentially the time zone may have been at issue here, I will maybe try it again. Thanks!
