Hey!

I posted a week or so ago about the site I'm opening, which consists of video tutorials. I'm ready to find my web host and open the site as soon as I can. For the time being I have 3 video files, ranging between 150-200MB(not compressed in a zip yet). These videos will be available for free. Therefore, I will use file hosting for the download (using a mirror) and I'll also upload them to a site such as divshare and embed the video onto my site.
However, I will be creating a larger video which will be available for a price. My estimate is that it'll range between 500MB-1GB, plus I'll have to use protected file hosting for it.
Finally, I plan to open some kind of file exchange (textures and models, not heavy files) and possibly a small forum where people can discuss, share and get help from other members.

So my question is as followed-
What is the best web host for the needs of my site? Is Bluehost any good?
What is the best file hosting service which will allow me to upload numerous rather large files(100-200MB with on exception of a larger file) and that will allow me to mirror the download and in the future protect the file for sale?

Well basically let me tell you it this way, sites that offer a lot of bandwidth for a little price usually have lower quality bandwidth and much slower download speeds vs sites that have lower bandwidth offerrings and only premium bandwidth will get you faster load times, etc.

Have you thought about splitting it up into 2 sections, one serving up pages with a premium host, and another serving up downloads at a cheap host so that it doesn't effect site load speeds?

I think that you have 2 opprtunities for now: file hosting or dedicated server. I would recopmmend be more exact in specifiing your needs

I think that what you might need is a multiple domain hosting plan,
25GB of disk space and 100GB of traffic are offered in Webhostgiant.com shared plans.
But if your video sites are extremely intensive, you may think of a vps plan instead.

File hosting means not only huge ammount of the space. That requries CPU recourcws as well and I think that it is need to remember while going for this kind of web hosting.

Hi Supernova!
I'd like to express my point of view that you have wise and really charismatic ideas concening your website. I was impressed. Steady so!
Well, I'd like to recommend you several hosting companies, which have great reputation and feedbacks. They are Lunarpages.com, *********** and hostgator.com. Also they have rather attractive plans and obtainable prices.
