Hi All,

I just bought a blog from www.limedomains.com. Now, I need to host it on any application. My basic intent on this blog would be to post articles on various topics and perhaps earn through Google adsense gradually.

Now. as a part of the package I got a 1 year hosting free from them. So I have few choices available, but I need to know whic would be the best application that supposrts all image formats and most importantly be compatible with Google Adsense.

Please help..

Any hosting platform -- as long as it supports the necessary languages for your blog software -- will be fine. As a personal rule of thumb, I tend to suggest avoiding providers that do not specialize in web hosting, but it seems like they might be a little more geared towards hosting, so you should be fine. Do you plan to use Wordpress, or are you going with something else?

Hi there neeraj.singhal and firstly welcome to HD, as far as blogging goes most would probably agree that Wordpress is the most widely used blogging CMS (content management system) at the moment and many here including myself utilise Wordpress for a number of purposes.

It is as a CMS very simple to use and customisation is very simple for an existing site although for a new site there are a number of templates available. For search engine optimization and Adsence you shouldn’t have a problem especially with the correct additions, although picking your key words correctly as you could imagine is also involved.

Just my worth

Just looked at their upgrade path. Is your domain registered to them or you?

If you are asking which CMS I'd agree WordPress is #1 and also works with Windows Live Writer (free download) so managing content can be as easy as working in a familiar Windows word-processing environment.

For hosting their free plan looks fine. Unless you get really big you won't need the paid plans if you accurately know your disk & transfer requirements. The company is obviously marketing to the "newcomer" like you which is fine, but many might order the $8 plan thinking that's not much for all that stuff when really they won't use more than the free plan offers fo quite sometime (unless OTS of peopl are reading your blog (good luck

So I'd recommend WordPress & the free hosting plan to start from what it looks like from their offers.

I definitely recommend using WordPress for your blog, it seems to be very popular these days.

Any cPanel host that has Fantastico will have this script pre-installed so that you can easily set it up

As others have mentioned, you should go with WordPress for your blogging needs, has a lot of features already built in plus loads of add-ons to help make it even better. Good luck with your new blog

If you want to optimize the images you can check "SEO Friendly Images" plugin for wordpress; http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/seo-image/

Wordpress is what I use on a number of sites. I've tried a number of others, including Drupal and TypeO3 over the years, but WordPress is my personal choice for my blogs.

Wordpress is the standard when it comes to blogs. I wouldn't think of using anything else.

Wordpress is the best option for a blog in my opinion. Very easy to use and is easily transfered from host to host if you need to switch hosts down the road.
