Given the questions you've asked, you'd be far better off to pursue reseller hosting with an established provider.

Yes, a reseller would be the best option for you at this time. Also, you should read through this forum and read some of the detailed guides that have been written.

Simply put, you will never be able to run a hosting business from your home computer.

If you would like to run a server from home just for educational purposes or for one or two non mission critical sites then you can start by reading the information on this site.

http://www.dslwebserver.com/

It's pretty much outdated but still plenty of relevant information.

You will also need to check with your ISP. Most don't allow you to run a web server on a residential account and my block port 80.

You should not use PC as a web host. Try reseller hosting or VPS.

You don't have enough bandwidth for web hosting business at home.....at start you should look at reseller plan.

Reseller plans are the best way to go when starting out. They provide you with an easy to use control panel and they take care of the server for you.

If you want to set up a server on your computer for testing and development purposes. I would suggest xampp, just google it.

Good luck!

There are many disadvantages to hosting a dedicated server in your own home, I'd highly advise against it

A home PC is built for personal use if you want your own server you may want to switch form Windows to Linux. That means no games at all no good video cards. Lots of ram and space. Even after that you also got to think about what type of internet you got. If your using dial-up it will be well a failure. Just find yourself a reseller company that meets your needs. But building a server is going to be a great expense at time and money.

You shouldn't make your home a place for a web server. That's why it has data centers

I disagree somewhat-there are uses to having a server at home. I did it for a long time when I was in uni and there were only a hand full of pages, and the JANET network was my ISP.

It taught me a lot, and really it can be good for that. But for business? There's just no way, you couldn't feasibly do it.

I am not one that prefers people run things from their homes (even though sometimes those residential ISP lines are nice and cheap compared to the business ones). There are too many things of keeping a server at home (for a company) that could go wrong, servers go in buildings, in offices, in work places - not your living room, closet or basement.

I think it will be included in the web hosting company where you will work with. They will provide a space for you to access on a server and data center.
