What companies do you know of that offer quality SEO hosting and what type of things do you think are most important for people to have who are trying to start up a website based on SEO as a means to generate profit for the site?

What are you looking for in an SEO host, just different c-class IPs?

Yes, I was told that I need that, as well as the ability to be able to add unlimited sub-domains and domains as well. Does that make sense? I'm still trying to educate myself on it all as I wasn't aware that the IPs mattered...

IPs matter. Having different Class-C's is what you're looking for. Idealy you should even have those different accounts on different servers rather than just having different Class-C's coming from a single MAC address on a server.

There are a number of hosts that do it, but what kind of budget are you looking at? How many sites, IPs etc?

Hostgator offers a form of hosting through www.seohosting.com. There's a number of the hosting companies that frequent the forums here that also offer somthing similar, ourselves included. If you want information about us, drop me a PM or in the Marketplace so I can provide more details.

If one actually believes that IPs do the trick, the only way to do it properly would be to truly imitate real life. If you want your sites to appear to be hosted in different places, you need to use different hosts with servers in different locations. You'll also need to make them appear to be owned by different people/companies. Anything else, and the search engine, like a human, will be able to notice that some of the coincidences are strange.

Regardless, if you'll be interlinking 1000 sites, this can be determined algorithmically.

If you have 10 sites in related niches, and it makes sense to send visitors from one to the other, then there's little chance that you're risking being penalized by the search engines. It's the same with a company linking to its customer support forum. If it makes sense to do it for the visitors, do it.

C class IPs won't "really" help SEO, you have to use different hosting providers with different data centers.

Well your site on dedicated ip, up time of site, speed of your hosting server are few thing which we need to consider before selection of a hosting company, these are just factors, whole seo does not stands on your hosting, its stands majorily on page and off page optimization.

I think what you need to do is focus on the site you are building not on the hosting. If your site is developed with google guidelines on mind and with a link building campaign you will have good rankings.

Actually SEO and the hosting provider/s are both important. Certainly having lots of relevant good neighbor inbound links helps tremendously.

I don't believe in SEO hosting. I wouldn't argue that cross-linking between IP addresses in different IP networks might work fro a while. But if there was no value in the web pages, the "SEO hosting" would not work.

And therein is the secret - good neighborhoods add value. Bad neighborhoods drag you down.

Agreed. Google (and I imagine Yahoo/Bing) have programmed their servers/algorithms to watch for circular-linking. Work on single-site SEO and if you've got good products/services, external sites will want to link to you.

seohosting offers seo optimized hosting. Of course getting seperate c-class ip's and everything separate is the way to go. If you have good content though it's all good.
