I certainly can recommend it. We are going to be swapping to Softaculous soon from Fantastico.

Regards,
Jack

That would be a good choice! Softaculous is more updated than Fantastico. However, some clients prefer Fantastico, so we have both to offer.

We've used it for the past year, no issues. We had used Fantastico since probably 2001 and are an NOC Partner with them, but you can do everything in Softaculous that you could do in Fantastico, and for that matter, you can import your users settings from Fantastico.

Well worth the money - http://blog.handsonwebhosting.com/sc...o-softaculous/

I think that softaculous is slowly gaining popularity and will eventually become the premier auto-installer software (instead of fantastico). I see no reason why you shouldn't offer it.

It's easy to install, easy for users to use and more and more are requesting it... why wouldn't you want to install it?

I would recommend also, there updates and addition of new scripts are fast and with out fault.

Also there list of software is so much bigger then any other.

While I do recommend Softaculous, I always recommend installing the software by hand. Sometimes things can get screwy installing it automatically. Not to say they will, but a lot of hosts do not provide support for one-click installation issues.

I was going to go with Fantastico before I read this. I really like to get the most up to date... well everything. I am going to look in to Softaculous for sure. Though you do have me worried about the set up!

well even though softaculous is very good and much more updated than fantastico but still many people dont know it and clients like it if you are offering fantastico with your shared hosting so I think till 2011 when sofaculous gets as much popular as fantastico sticking with fantastico is a good choice
