New high speed internet connections make web hosting a better investment for web hosting. I can remember the days of 56k connection speed and how daunting a task it was to get a website to load under 30 seconds. No longer do we think of such problems and now websites are made at the click of a mouse and are online instantly. So how dose this help us we can now concentrate on providing service rather than function.

Well everyone need their websites to load fast and due to the type of resources available it's not a hard thing these days.

I know my connections at work and at home are incredibly fast, but there are still huge sections of the US and the World that don't have broadband yet.

Same. I have Bright House (RoadRunner) at my house and they now offer 40mbps!.. I'm currently on the plan below that one (20 mbps), which is still VERY fast.

Many people forget about the wireless market when it comes to websites too. Cell Phones (especially since nearly all providers are disabling their unlimited data plans) still need optimized code for fast websites. While the WAP version of pages help serve the PDA/Smartphone market, many people still use a standard browser on their phone, or use their phone tethered to a notebook.

Speed is still a concern, and many people still use DSL and modems.

I was watching a forum of the 3 Google search leaders, Matt Cutts and the 2 foreign guys, and it seems like things are moving toward direct communication rather than a static website. With the mobile boom, people may be getting interactions from websites such as Google or others about when they need to re-supply their fridge with milk because they have not bought any in 2 weeks.

The whole Star Trek thing might also come into our lives where we can talk to computers for answers and websites won't be needed accept for e-commerce ones that require your to be on the site to buy. This too may be made into you saying a code and the website automatically shipping you the products you want.

I got fiber running to my house. 25 up 25 down. Living the good life.

A web host's job today is to just to make sure the service the provide is fast so clients can focus on whatever they need their service for and that is it.

Yes, I believe mobile websites/web hosting will be more and more popular and play a big role in future hosting industry, but at the moment still rare to see any hosting who announce to be dedicated for mobile.

It seems to me iPhone and iPad are widely used by the advanced web masters. That's very convenient.

I believe that web hosting will become much more mainstream. Consumers will look for a applications and management interfaces which are as easy to handle as the remote control of their home TV.

In general, I agree, but if they're anything like the family I helped yesterday, that remote is going to have to be incredibly simple to use. There are still a ton of people out there who are computer literature, but NOT hosting literate.
