I kinda dont trust free hosts .Free hosts often want ads and mostly those who dont ask to show ads also SO I would go with paid web hosting companies...

Free hosts suck. As I tried using them before. But I prefer paid hosting if you're really serious with your website.

I just see no point in it, nothing in life is free, there is always something.

They either shut down, or request you to do something in return.
Just pay for quality, sorted.

Definitely agree with the post above, nothing in life is free, there is always some hidden or sometimes blatant requirement. It is better to pay, as it will ensure liability and security.

Nope, for commercial or business websites free hosts can't be trusted. If you wish to host a personal blog, then you can think of hosting it with a free host.

Free hosts are only around long enough for the owner to figure out they can't make any money, then they're gone. So, no, not the best solution for hosting your website.

If the question is about trust, then yes, there are free web hosting operators out there that run decent operations. Presence of advertising does not influence my trust issues as it is part of the product/deal.

Indeed some of free webhosting providers are trustworthy but if someone is really looking for some business from his/her website/s, I would recommend them paid hosting.
The reason, you will have many more features with paid hosting like backup, monitoring, etc..

It depends on how you define "trust". Some free hosting providers are trustable in the sense that they do provide you hosting service for free without placing ads on your website. Whether they provide reliable hosting service or not, that is a different story.

I have tried free hosts and some are pretty good, however the old saying 'you get what you pay for' is definitely true! I guess it just depends on your hosting needs (ie, personal blog vs. business site) :-)

I remember years ago when I just started out in the whole 'webmaster world' using a free hosting service (I think it was called Freewebs). Anyway it was free and you could create your own pages pretty easily, yes it was pretty basic but I got the webmaster bug as a result! So I think free hosts definitely have their place

yes they are handy to get a foot in the door as they say and to learn on, but basic learning as most do not give CGI or databases, which would be handy so you can learn these too for when you upgrade to the BIG BAD WWW for real
