Now in days there are many ways of paying for hosting in short or long terms. I like pay pay monthly dealing with a server or a reseller account. Mainly due to the fact because they host may have downtime or go out of business depending on who it is.

Also when signing up for yearly be sure to check there terms see if you cancel before the contract will you get any money back for the service that you didnt use.

Yes, you usually get 12 months for the price of 10, or 12 months for the price of 11. Free domain registration is also usually included with the Yearly billing cycle.

Also known as a Anytime Money Back Guarantee. You can ask for a pro-rated refund, so that you get money back for the unused months left on the account.

I bet there are more that offer it than those that don't . I can't back that up 100% though.

Monthly payment will be more fexible. As you can change your plan or setting anytime.

But Yearly payment will be more cheap as they will provide more discount.

I use HostMist for reseller. I paid $80.10 for the year and I am quite happy.

Yearly is not bad for me considering that the monthly rate is $5 a month. I just get it over with for one year so I don't have to worry about it until next year.

I normally pay a month or two monthly and then pay Annually if I feel their a good company. If by the end of 2 months, I'm not comfortable with the company, I move on.

IMO. its a decision that would defer on a case-to-case basis. If you know that the host is reliable and trustworthy, paying upfront for an year for a particular service would cause no harm, plus you'd be able to save few bucks in the long run.

But, if you haven't heard of a particular hosting provider, but are attracted towards the services they offer, you may try their services initially for a couple of months, if you have good experience using their services, you'd think of paying for an year.
