I completely agree. Free hosting ends up costing more in the long run.

For starters in web industry free hosting may be okay just for testing, but for production site better to consider to buy cheap but professional hosting plan.

this is true in all service and retail sectors. in retails your have the BOGOF (buy one get one free) senario. Do you think you really get one free? The answer is NO.

in our retail business we were selling fishing nets at 50p each (were not expecting these to be quick sellers) we got a bulk load (144) of these and in a summer season (May to Aug) we sold 20, so at the end of the season we placed these at 1 BOGOF and we sold the rest of the 124 before December of the same year all because of the word FREE.

Its what is called consumer phycology

IMO it's better to pay $1 per month than waste your time trying to get something for nothing.

I guess it's better to have a deal with a paid host than free.,
You know pay nothing, get nothing.

There is nothing wrong with free hosting. However, hosting is so cheap these days the time spent shopping for a decent free host can cost more than retail hosting.

On the other hand, one can find great free hosting when the pay-for plans are tossed in free as an added-value with other products and services.

If FREE you cant expect so much with their service. So, if you really serious in online business, you need to find trustworthy provider.

If you do not intent to earn with the web site it's ok to host it free. However, it depends, for sure.

To say that you should never use a free hosting is a rather bold statement. Everybody has different needs and in some cases a free hosting may be ok for them. In general though, buying even the cheapest plan gives you a piece of mind.

when you are just beginning, free hosting may work for you. But, the moment you start hosting something useful, its better to shift to a reliable paid host.

Free hosting is only good for learning and trying new stuff. It doesn't make sence once you invest your time and money in something to continue working with free hosting when there are prety good shared hosting options with almost every provider.
