Hi Guys,

Would you choose cheap hosting company or are you willing to pay more for web hosting.

Do you think that hosting prices are a sign of trust ?

I always try to go middle of the road
I do not want to pay too much for same service/quality/amount of service if I do not have to. Research always help, but so does just plain old gut feeling

It is not necessary that cheap is low quality. If you can get what you want at reasonable prices then you don't need to pay more for the same.

It depends on your situation. The difference between a $5.00 host and a $10.00 host may be insignificant for your purposes (if there is any difference at all!)

I agree with paradiseweb and Collabora, it really is 6 of one, half dozen of the other. I find customer service is important, the availability of the staff, even the intuitiveness of the web ordering interface and support interface.

I am willing to pay more to get the extra quality. Mind you it really depends on your budget and what you need.

Depends, if the quality will be miles better than I would pay that little more, for a solid stable service the price is not a problem.

Just like to add that quality never comes cheap however it all depends on your requirements and the money you would like to spend. You may check reviews of the company online with whom you'd like to place an order.

This depends entirely on the importance of the specific site you're having hosted. As it becomes more important, the more stable you want your host to be. Of course, everybody wants their sites to be up 24/7/365, but when push comes to shove, especially when money becomes an issue, sacrifices are made just to make sure you're site is up, even if it's at a less than optimal host. For me - I'll always go with a quality host, regardless.

I generally don't associate price to quality / reputation to a certain degree.

For example you have some quality providers in the lower price range $4.95 - $9.95 and then you have some higher and some lower and some a lot higher xD.

As long as your not choosing a $1/m provider and have common sense then pricing should play a small part in the decision (of course within budgets).

Very often companies which offer chip hosting packages with big disk/ RAM quote etc. are overselling and you will never get those promised unlimited GB of disk space paying only 1/month. There will be always some limitations, so I prefer to order packages with guaranteed quotas for reasonable price.

We sell unlimited and it works wonders for us - with proper management. Any company can claim to offer unlimited disk space / bandwidth yes, those that do not have the knowledge, resources and systems in place to manage it will end up having poor performance for clients websites etc...

We have been selling unlimited for years now and the majority are pleased with the speeds / performance they get, no different from a host with quotas on bandwidth / disk space.

Really depends where you go and how they manage selling it.

Then again, we don't have packages as low as $1/m.

I think it depends on your situation and need. Normally price indicates quality, though that's not always the case. I would just go for quality hosting plans with reasonable prices.

I will always be willing to pay the extra penny, It could be a lot or a little if you pay the extra penny sometimes then you will not have to worry about downfalls with the services.. Sometimes people pay the extra and they still don't get good service. You have to always make sure they are a good provider do your home work read reviews , ask questions and always check the nooks and cracks of the host. See how long they have bee up for and what their client base looks like.
