I need a host that can affordably suppy my site with anywhere from 100-200 gb bandwidth. My budget is around 10/month. I only need very limited features.

Can anyone help me out?
The best deal i can find it 100gb at rav3.com for $13/month (special price)

But i need closer to 200gb i think

Anyone who offers you 200 GB bandwidth for $10 (if anyone at all), would be overselling its services badly. Then if you do find an offer, don't expect good service/support as there is a saying that proved to work every time. It goes: "you get what you pay for."

Good luck,

at that bandwidth consumption rate you should be looking to get dedicated server... although it may be out of your price range.

At that price you'd also have trouble finding a reliable host.

That's not always true. There are hosts that can provide 200 GB of bandwidth on a shared setup - rather then dedicated - however, obviously you'll be paying WAY more then 10.00 per month. Look to spend around 60.00+ for such a large amount of bandwidth.

It might've been said before, but you get what you pay for. Anyone who will sell you 200 or even 100 gb of bandwidth for 10 a month is either overselling, which will not make you happy, or trying a bait and switch tactic on you. Be careful what you pay for, and in my opinion, go with a dedicated server.
BTW, why would you need so much bandwidth? Unless you are a reseller, or have a VERY high traffic site, it will serve no purpose to you.

But yet all of the hosting prices are still coming down. Servers are getting faster and cheaper. Bandwidth is getting cheaper. So it is not always the case of overselling.

Bandwidth getting cheaper? Well yes if you consider the price per Mbps when purchasing large quantities. The more you buy then cheaper the price per Mbps. Yet consider that the monthly fixed cost of a base amount and then 95 percentile overages and you will soon be bankrupt overselling 200Gb bandwidth for $10/month.

Unfortunately, many web hosting company owners are not very good at the financial aspects of running a business and soon go out of business. I am often amazed at the ridiculous offers seen today and wonder where they get their fuzzy math skills. Perhaps we should all invest in our local school's math programs in order to strengthen the industry for the future!

Best Wishes for a .Net Success!

Bandwidth may be getting cheaper, but it won't be at the point of 200GB/$10 for a long time. And many hosts would probably rather pocket the extra cash if prices were actually comming down.

and i like that tagline! .net success! That just might catch on!

There is a lot more to hosting than just bandwidth.
Just because bandwidth prices are coming down, it doesn't mean that the entire cost of doing business is dropping.
I don't think too many tech support people are going to work cheaper just because the cost of bandwidth is lower.

Even so, i have noticed many people actually worrying less about disk space, since they assume that their site will remain relatively static, but are more concerned with the ammount of traffic they will be having to the site. But you are absolutely correct...there is always the cost of people!

It seems anymore that more companies are offering large amounts of bandwidth (100GB) for less than 10 dollars a month. I really don't know how they can afford it. Even if you have gigabit incoming to your network, you are still going to pay ~15-20 dollars a megabit. Talk about some overselling of the bandwidth!

Well your banwidth requirements and too low price put you in the "high risk zone" when you search for hosts. I know only one company that offers over 100 GB monthly under $10 a month. It is powweb. Unfortunately I do not have experince with them and so I could not reccomend them.

Regards
Webmaster
