We do the following:

Daily backups on the same server, but a different RAID array
Every other day backups to a "private" server located in the same DC
Weekly backups of the private server to an offsite location.

So you use FTP or rSync or any plugin for the transfer ?

We use rsync both times, from the main hosting servers to the private backup, then from there to the offsite.

Sorry for being a questionnaire, do you use any cPanel plugin to do your tasks or you do it manually ?

I use just the standard cPanel backup to generate the first file, but then everything else is on an rsync cron job.

We use the standard cpanel backup to a server offsite across the country from our web server.

The only problem I've seen with that is it can affect server performance doing a copy over the net. Thats the only reason we really have a secondary server for the "transfer" of backup files!

Understandable. So far we haven't had any performance issues within their new backup system. As the servers fill up we'll continue to monitor and adjust our solution at that point.

We usually generate backups of the account settings & MySQL via "/scripts/pkgacct --skiphomedir"

The cpmove files, along with the home directories, are then rsync'd offsite so that we have incremental backups.

Currently since we primarily offer Unmanaged solutions we don't do it as much, but our Managed clients are a mix up R1Soft or Hard FTP/MySQL backups.

(We don't do basic Web Hosting so obviously we're not backing up tons of cPanel accounts and what not)

We like using R1Soft CDP for remote backups. It makes it easy for the client to be able to manage and restore their own backups on demand.

We have multiple backups though also implement R1Soft (Primarily for our customers to use). It is very handy though can be buggy...

Well I won't get into detail, but we have several off site cheap end servers with big drives and sync it across using CPRemote, then we have a process to replicate it for dual storage just in case
