Keston, I was wondering. If the cheapest 1 gb of bandwidth one could get ever is $0.07 per gigabyte, 50GB would arrive at $3.5 worth. Plus the space cost, IP cost, client service and support, transaction fee, etc. All this definitely cost more than $5. How are you able to provide such an offer and pay for at least equipment? Are you operating in the United States or outside? Are the operating costs any different?

Also, plans and pricing on your home page left me a bit confused. Those plans on pricing do not match what it says on hosting offers pages inside.

Thanks for clarifications.

************* is able to provide so much by having a established foundation as well as a mass amount of clients. Most of our clients * do not signup for the prices on our site but aim for higher packages. We are able to provide support via our administration team some of our staff pitch in a couple of hrs per day and some of them work the entire day and yes Artashes we are operating in the lovely U.S. of America. ************* continues to prove our self as a proven web host and will continue.

Keston, that is great to hear. I'm not in a position to "question", but you haven't really addressed the issue of offering so much data transfer for $5. Do you really make profit off a user who uses all 50GB?

It is just for the industry standard rate per GB of transfer that comes to being a very low price. Some may think you are overselling, so this is the chance to actually prove us wrong. Again, this can be because I don't know the infrastructure and operational plan of your venture.

Best,

For a company that was registered a few months ago I would be a little sceptical of claims of "mass amount of clients" and "administration teams".
What we in the industry call it Art, is Mass Overselling.

Sorry Keston, but the only companies who grow at the rate you suggest charge for their bandwidth and spend huge amounts of money on advertising. I have yet to see a huge advertising campaign from whm-host.

That leaves big time overselling as the only option.

Let's say you were a reseller for ezwebhosters.com for instance, they charge quite a bit of money for bandwidth.
Even if you are getting a dedicated server from them from Managed.com there is still no way to make a profit without overselling.

Even though managed.com are a bargain basement provider, the numbers still don't work out.

Blue, there is another option. I would say that mass growth of whm might include the fact that they also specialize in free hosting, which, no science testing necessary, attract masses of webmasters. If they are later on "switched" to or advertised to of whm paid services, even though they are not using all of the 50 GB, then might make a profit. However, advertising more resources for sale than a host can provide in full is misleading advertising.

They might also receive extra revenue from advertising off free account holders. Of course these are all guesses.

Best,

We do not place advertisements on our free clients websites and yes our free clients do upgrade, or refer paid clients and no WE DO NOT over sell massively as some people think we do how ever though the opertations of how we go about business are strictly confidential.

And that is respected by us. In that case, keep in mind that any average user will always question the performance of your company, even though it might provide the best service in town. It is just how people are.

I havent actually looked at your site - but 50 GB for $5 - is that correct?

Come on man - thats massive overselling - nothing wrong with that - but dont spew some BS about volume, etc... no volume in the world can justify those rates - this is overselling pure and simple - I think most people wouldnt mind - especially if positioned properly - ie ) most customers wont use these resources - and for the few that do, we will re-allocate our resources to accomodate, etc..

No need to make up some BS - theres enough of this in this industry already...

Post by Chris

whm-host oversells anywhere from 10-20 times their alloted space, which means they don't care about future problems. I have been overselling my account with them since i signed up.
