Best way is to ask your web hosting company if they offer this service we offer it free to our customers , in this you just need to provide them with your old host login details and they can get things transferred for you, Best and safe way to get contained moved to new provider.

Follow these steps to ensure ZERO downtime and to ensure a seamless move to your new host.

1.) DO NOT CHANGE YOUR NAMESERVERS JUST YET, NOR DELETE YOUR HOSTING ACCOUNT WITH YOUR CURRENT WEB HOST!

2.) Establish a hosting account with your new host. You'll be able to access your new account via the IP address of the server your new account is on. Upload all of your files to the new server.. Verify that everything is working on your NEW site (web pages, forums, links, etc.).

3.) Once verified, go to your domain registrar and change your "NameServers" to those that were provided by your new host.

4.) Your site will be updated WORLDWIDE within 24-72 hours. Note: Although you may be able to see your site is on your new server within possibly 12 hours, please allow a complete 72 hour cycle before you delete your old hosting account completely.

6.) Enjoy your new hosting!

Depends as this is a general question.

#1. Are you asking as a customer?

If yes, then you can ask the new web host to do it for you. They will need the login information to the old/current account to move everything for you. Most will do it for free or charge a fee. Those that do transfers for free...ask them if there's a limit (free until XXX GB's or free for XX domains and a fee for additional domains).

#2. Are you a host?

If you're using cPanel, then you can do a host to host transfer. If you're not using cPanel OR come across a that has disabled cPanel backup function, then go to #3.

#3. Manual migration.

Backup files, databases, and emails...move them to the new account...restore them...verify everything works, then change DNS/NameServers/A Records

One of the best way for migration is through cPanel transfer. It is easy way to transfer all your files and websites as it is to the new host.

I always find marking the homepage on the files on your new host account in a way you will see it, but it will not be that obvious to anyone viewing your site, then once you see this when you visit your site you know that your site have fully migrated

That's a good idea actually! Adding a simple html code/text, at the footer for example, would accomplish this perfectly.

Both are great ideas. With the footer idea, it could as simple as adding an extra period which no one would notice.

The first thing you need to do is find a new hosting company, If your domain name is registered with your hosting company, you’ll need to move it, but don’t worry, your host will have instructions for this. If you’ve registered it with a different company, all you’ll need to do is change the name servers when your new site is up and running.

You could create a CPmove backup and transfer it yourself

the problem with doing that and using the cpanel backup system to create backups is if your site is 10GB then the server must have at least 10GB free space as how it works is cpanel creates a full duplicate of your site files and then compresses these into the .tar.gz file. and then you have to download the .tar.gz file to your local PC and them upload it to the new server and them uncompress it.

The most convenient way to transfer your website's files to your new web hosting account is through FTP. You can connect to your other hosting account and download the files locally. Then you should upload them to your hosting account's main folder (usually public_html, www or httpdocs).

That is the longest and most time consuming way, but definitely is not the most convenient way
