Take a look at the different billing packages and see which ones support Plesk. I know Modernbill does, and there are probably others which do too. That would be the easiest way to automate things. The client would sign up through your site and then your billing software would provision their account on your server through Plesk.

AWBS has a Plesk module. SW-Soft's products obviously support Plesk (PEM and HSPComplete). Rodopi has a Plesk module. WHMCS v3 which is in beta and looks to be released soon supports Plesk.

I've never used any of them, so I'm not sure if they all do exactly what you want, but that should give you some options to look into.

clientexec is one of them, Rodopi is also good billing software. But many peoples prefer to go with modernbill due to its compatibility.

Well in all honesty, I don't really like cpanel. It's a bloated control panel. Just to install/run the base copy of cpanel it's 256 mb ram. You can get all the same features with all the same point and click versatility in direct admin with half the resource usage. Then when fantastico is mentioned it's the same thing as installatron pretty much. A "good tech" can trim down the services on cpanel to work in a 128 mb environment but that does not happen often, especially when a "good tech" can trim down DirectAdmin to work in a 64 MB environment and still maintain all the key features, this application is commonly used in a VPS if some of you are wondering why anyone would want to use cPanel or DA under such a restricted environments such as 64 MB ram or 128 MB ram.

We constantly have customers thinking we have a custom built control panel when it's just a skinned/modded version of DirectAdmin, and modern bill. I am actually pretty biased when it comes to control panels, used most of them and found one that worked better than the others.

I absolutely love cpanel.

I love cpanel. But directAdmin is good enough for most uses.
basically if I get a dedicated box, I might go for directadmin and save some money, but if I buy a shared account I will definitely look for cpanel.

Plesk is really good.It is easy to use and understand where is what.
If I'm right they have 8.1 version has already occur.

I have used Hsphere and cpanel. Cpanel is the best by far. It is more user friendly and allows you manage your website or domain in an easy and convenient manner. I also like the fact that it comes with a number of intelligent features like fantastico.

Zac, I am only aware of WHMautopilot billing system that comes with Host Gator reseller accounts.

I used a a lot of different types of Control Panels: most of all I liked Cpanel and Plesk as they are more operational than others,for example, Webmin.
