Linux is better for running a web site.

Sell both and earn double

I prefer linux over windows because they are more reliable and less maintenance but that is my option. Windows does have it advantages.

If it is selling ? - then both has target audiences.

If it is Hosting? - then there are coming up with different set of resources. Depends what you want to host and what are your resources needs.

I definetely prefer Linux and most clients request this rather than Windows. I feel it will be a good option to have in the long run.

Linux is definitely easier to host sites on and is cheaper due to licensing; however, the Windows market is too big to ignore as well. If you're currently not offering both, I think you should evaluate the business case for supporting both.

Many webmaster would prefer Linux hosting .
The first difference that they notice with Web hosting operating systems is how you access the server. Both Windows and Linux offer FTP access to your files, but only Linux will generally offer telnet or ssh access.

Linux-the system is free, which makes the web hosting packets cheaper and users like that more.It is open source and you have more freedom.
Windows-you have to buy the plan and the plan itself is more expensive, but optimizations compared to APS.NET are better and is the same quality as linux.

For some clients is better, but for the mass user in my opinion Linux is better

Like most here, I think Linux is better, though more for stability than any other reason. Offering both is good for business because customers like choice.

I prefer Linux because you can get away with not rebooting a several much longer than a Windows server will.
