Well it has been quite a while since nobody posted anything related to stock images. So if you have a nice resource of stock images , please let us know about it. I know Shutterstock is a great image bank , but their services are paid.

For free images I tend to use scx .

How about you ... ?

http://www.sxc.hu is the only one I know that is free and of best quality.
Their sister-project http://www.stockxpert.com is paid but very affordable. Great quality and fair pricing.

I've had fairly good experiences with iStock.

I use bigstockphoto.com which costs around $1/pic which seems ok to me.

I use and contribute to sxc.hu and was rather upset when they opened a paid section. I've seen artists move their stock from free to paid which makes me very sad. I've also used shutterstock.

Well I can certainly understand a photographer wanting paid for their work. However, I don't think it's appropriate to move a previously free image into a paid category after hundreds, if not thousands of people already have it.

If you obtained it free, then the artist moves it into a paid level, I can see potential false copyright infringement claims becoming abundant.
