Which forum script is the best in your opinion?

Here are a few to consider:

vBulletin
invision
php
yabb
wbb
Ikonboard
Snitz

Thats just to name a few.

Right now my fav is invision, before that i was a fan of phpbb for years, i didnt move to invision even though a load of people suggested it, i didnt think there would be anything better than phpbb in that price range (free ) but invision is great.

Apart from that it would be vbulletin but its just the price that i think lets it down, its a great forum though.

i dont like or use any CGI forums because they arent good for the server...the only ones I have used really are PHP/MySQL, great combo i think

I have only used Invision and phpBB.. I do not really like phpBB, I do however like invision, I find it very customizeable.

I've operated vBulletin, yabb and Ikonboard on other forums as well.

I would have to rank them:

1. vBulletin
2. Invision
3. phpBB
4. Ikonboard
5. yabb

For my own forums I like phpBB because it's free but the one with the best features I think would be vBulletin.

Ahh, I actually don't really like phpBB, I don't like the style, I prefer Invsion over it.

phpBB is the simpliest forum ever found, it has a large community groups with tons of mods and themes and supports, IPB's design is beautiful. VB is very expensive for a forum script
If you haven't got much time, and want to see what the new phpbb3 can offer, just try it out on this host : free forum hosting

I used to love ikonboard. That was one of the best free forum software that is not too fancy and easy to get around... then I discovered how attractive vbulletin 2.x was... from there on out, I am happily married with vBulletin
