Do you use keywords in your sites and do you think you use so they are effective for your search engine ranking?

I have to admit...I NEVER even think about the keywords for my sites and I think that maybe I should...

Maybe someone here can give me some tips on how to improve my search engine rankings using keywords

Well one our new site I've done a lot of keyword optimisation and its definitly worth it. Initial google ranking for jeywords are in the 30 range which for a week in a business keyword section is good

I've never used keywords either.. didn't think much of it..

I dont "Plan" on using keywords, but i DO add them to my page's meta tags, as well as try and use them throughout the front and sub pages of the site.

For instance, check out these searches for various keywords that I found in my logfiles for my site @ geesh.com:

I deleted my old logs, but I did have other searches for keywords that had me in #1-#10 in google. (out of 100,000+ results)

Here's a breakdown of my top keywords as searched by users finding my website:

I think keywords are important. Like I said though, I don't really "plan" a keyword strategy, I just try to use them throughout each article or piece of news on the site.
