Hi I have someone that is interested in getting there website submitted to all the search engines for SEO. There keywords are not that competive, and there region they are in is not as well. He does not want to spend a lot of money if any. How would you go about getting a website listed on all the search engines for this customer, and keep help with SEO, for free? Also is there ways of people posting news articles, and blogs, forums, link exchanges for free? Any information would be helpfull.

Thank you,

If they keywords are not too competitive then it shouldnt be too hard to rank for them. You will need links to your site, but Google is quick to penalise sites that get links in a "fake" looking way. Ideally they should be natural. Links from blog posts reviewing your site would help, but make sure the blogs reviewing are of a good quality (not brand new blogs that were created the last few days on a free blogger account).

Search engine submitting isnt really that important. If you get links then Google will find you as well as others. When I build a new site I just link from one of my others and often see the new site spidered with in days.

If he doesnt want to spend any money (or very little) then it can still be done, but he will need to work hard.

If he offers a service then maybe he could set up a competition and have people link to his site to enter the competition.

Thank you,
DomainTools.com has a SEO Browser they are currently testing. The browser will give [The Site] a SEO Percentage. I've found this tool really useful.

For a budget of 0 this is starting point for you.

I use http://www.submitexpress.com for free. They also have a premium service that isn't expensive. But the free one works. Just make sure your content has all the keywords.

Blog promotions for free do at http://www.technorati.com and http://pingomatic.com/

But the fastest FREE way to get listed is to use Article Marketing (otherwise known as Bum Marketing) to get indexed fast and syndicated around the net. Some useful online publishers are http://www.ezinearticles.com http://www.articlemarketer.com http://www.goarticles.com http://www.articlealley.com

Hope that helps.

I have found submitting to search engines isn't that helpful but blogs, articles and links are much more so. Especially when working with a budget of nothing. Using your site as a signatue link where permitted on forums is also helpful.
