How Fancy is Too Fancy? - Page 2

To me it depends a great deal on the purpose of the site. If the purpose is purely informational, then it should have information presented in a sleek professional way. If the purpose is to advertise, then a well-done flash intro is great. I saw one today for a restaurant that was the best I have ever seen. It was short and quick and had absolutely nothing to do with food, but I sure want to go eat there cause it made me think the atmosphere would be awesome! I certainly agree though that every intro should have a skip option. If its a site you frequent, why would you want to sit through the intro every time?

if it's a fancy web site it means it has too many things in that page and the load time is worst, so i wouldn't recommend it

Things become too fancy when the design distracts away from what you are trying to sell.
