W3Schools is a website for people with an interest for web technologies. These people are more interested in using alternative browsers than the average user. The average user tends to use Internet Explorer, since it comes preinstalled with Windows. Most do not seek out other browsers.
These facts indicate that the browser figures above are not 100% realistic. Other web sites have statistics showing that Internet Explorer is used by at least 80% of the users.
Anyway, our data, collected from W3Schools' log-files, over a five year period, clearly shows the long and medium-term trends.

The most popular browser is Internet Explorer.
However, the best can easily be argued to be Mozilla Firefox. It has many great addons to make your internet browsing experience better and you can customize it and look many ways. You can make it look like IE, Opera or w.e.

If I didn't have problems with Opera so often, I'd be using it all the time, but lately I've been using Internet Explorer unfortunately. I downloaded Google Chrome but I don't like it's layout and features. So lately it's just been IE because of the fact it's compatible with all sites and whatnaught.
I primarily use Firefox. The reason why I like it so much is because of the speed and the fact that I haven't had any problems with it virus / spyware / adware wise.

My preference is Firefox, Google Chrome then IE because some sites still run only in IE or else never go to IE
