I am curious, when I read about presence of a keyword on a page, does it includes just keywords that are in the <body> section of the page or also includes the ones in the <head> (title, meta description and keywords)?

Also can you recommend some good keyword analysis tools for keyword density, keyword prominence?

Well, keywords play a big part in on-page SEO. What you have in your title tag, meta description tag, keywords tag, and body all play a part when it comes to the outcome of your SEO success/failure. As far as keyword density tools, I yet to find one that I actually like. I usually just do it by hand and since I have been doing SEO content for several years, I usually can just tell by quickly looking over the content whether or not it will help or hurt my SEO. If you really want to give your SEO something to make it scream, order some articles from a professional writer if you don't understand keyword density fully. I'm not saying that you can't do it yourself, but it is something that you do have to develop a skill for, it's not something learned overnight. I'm still learning when it comes to SEO as it changes constantly.

As far as a good keyword analysis tool, you can almost always depend on all Google tools being one of the best. I always use their tools as opposed to others, whenever possible. You can find others using Google search too.

I forgot to mention that, when it comes to researching keywords, I always use the Google Keyword Tool External. Nothing beats good old Google. So I would have to be with you on your recommendation as well. I know many SEO masterminds who use the same tool, so something has to be right with it.

I also endorse and highly recommend Google tools. The key to keyword analysis is finding what surfers are searching for TODAY and tweaking your site to maximize those words or phrases.

Thanks for the share Steve, I'm sure it will help others who don't understand the essence of long tailed keywords. I love them truthfully.

Keywords should not be stuffed in the website content. The Keyword density should be maintained, about 3 to 4 % is good. try to use this keywords naturally, use some keyword suggestion tools for the same. Google Adwords is the best tool so far. Many other tools are also available. Also, use your keywords in Title, H1, H2 tags as well.

I just tried this and it looked promising, but I kept getting fatal errors.

Not a bad tool, but they jump the gun on some stuff;

Title limit is 150 characters, only the first 80 will show on a google result. We have 79, but they presented a warning.

Keywords are recommended 8-12 - we got a warning at 11

Descriptions shoudl be no more than 200 characters. We had 197 on the page and got a warning.

Everything else said Very Good or Excellent - so that makes me happy, but if they're giving warnings on the above and they're actually within recommended parameters, users could be missing out on some seo.

All in all, not a bad tool.
