I've been spitting out content for my new sites like crazy these days. But even though I've managed to improve my writing speed quite a bit, I'm still not satisfied with it. How many words can you produce per hour? I talking about grammar and spell checked content here.

I'm fairly slow - of course I'm old.......
Writing speed is fast - it's the thinking about it first, proofreading and rewriting that takes forever. I'd love to give you a measureable number, but I don't think I've ever considered tracking this.

I dont pay attention to this issue anymore - i've used to taking courses of fast writing with some free software, but i dont think that improved anything - its just a matter of time and keyboard becomes natural way of expression to anyone - whether if he training for it or not. Better to pay attention what you write than how fast you do;]

I can do about 1000 words of decent content in less than an hour. I was an English guy originally, so I've had lots of practice. I think that it's a skill that you can hone over time.

I actually took a test the other day for an interview and got 140 words a minute with 7 mistakes...I am sure that is low but I am impressed at how fast I am...I only type with two fingers and the lady found that to be odd but then again I am odd

When I left high school(2008) I was at 55 or so words per minute with like 15 mistakes

Romes, are you talking about typing speed? I've never met anyone who typed that fast.

Two-finger typists, sometimes also referred to as "hunt and peck" typists, commonly reach sustained speeds of about 37 wpm for memorized text, and 27 wpm when copying text but in bursts may be able to reach up to 60 to 70 wpm

Romes, 140 wpm is pretty good. I am around 80-90 words per minute with few mistakes.

However, faster is not always better, especially for website content. I would rather take a bit more time to construct a well written article than a rushed one.

If how quickly you generate content is a problem, have you ever thought of finding a writer who's writing style you like and outsourcing your content to them?

140wpm is extreme.

I'm at 95wpm, no mistakes, and 108 with mistakes. 20 years of typing will do that to ya

But typing speed and content writing speeds are totally different. I can spend 10 minutes typing a 250 word article and another 15 minutes tweaking it for SEO and links etc as well as grammar changes. It all depends on what the end goal is about.

By the same token, I fly through forum posts here and other places daily without any mind for SEO. While I am not to be as careful on forums regarding structure and going off track on tangents, I do try to proofread my posts for grammar and spelling and overall content before clicking post.

Yeah, I never said I was perfect When I type I tend to have like 7-10+ mistakes when I am done...But, I am very happy with my speed. I've been typing with two fingers since 5th grade (20 now), I just find it easier to type with two fingers

So I take it the 308 is similar to the following when you type then -

I reach upto 90 words per minute if I real put rubber to the ground.

However, on an average - I'd say 70.
