You should start by deciding which payment processor you will use.
Paypal, 2checkout, and paysystems are examples or you could choose to open your own merchant account with your bank.

Next you should probably decide on shopping cart software. Most hosts offer a shopping cart with their hosting plans. OScommerce is a good one and is a free install with cPanel hosts.

You will then need to build your store.

There are pitfalls to everything but if you take your time and offer a good product and service you can reduce the chances of them occurring.

You can get a loaded version of osCommerce from www.phesis.co.uk that has a nice template system built into it. I recommend taking a look at it.

You also may want to think about advertising. Althugh the site is proboly your main prioirty, it will do no good if no one goes!
